RISE UP Resources and Action Toolkit
Why taking action now?
The UN Ocean Conference, June 27th – July 1st, offers a crucial opportunity to set the trajectory for global ocean action in the months and years to come. In particular, we want governments and companies to commit to advancing the different interlinked goals and actions enshrined in RISE UP Blue Call to Action and to work nationally, as well as globally to ensure the necessary changes are made in both policy and action.
The success of the UN Ocean Conference 2022 will be judged by the outcomes of these crucial global processes identified in the RISE UP – A Blue Call To Action timeline and not simply for the fine words in the declaration. Countries’ good intentions must be translated into concrete actions and the RISE UP Network and civil society at large will be watching closely.
How to take action?
This Resources Toolkit provides you with the tools and resources to take action to support RISE UP priority actions in the lead up to, during and beyond the UN Ocean Conference.

More Resources and Upcoming Opportunities to RISE UP for the Ocean
Starting from World Ocean Day, June 8, we will outline each week a RISE UP ACTION OF THE WEEK aligned with the RISE UP Timeline of Opportunities for the RISE UP network to amplify the Blue Call to Action and join the UN Ocean Conference online conversation.
The RISE UP Blue Call to Action is a joint call by civil society, fisherfolk, Indigenous peoples and philanthropic organisations, governments and corporations to join the growing RISE UP network and agree to bold action to safeguard the ocean.

Let’s Get Creative for the High Seas
