The third UN Ocean Conference (UNOC3), co-chaired by the governments of France and Costa Rica, and taking place in Nice, June 2025, will be the next major multilateral opportunity for governments, civil society and all ocean stakeholders to address the most crucial issues facing our ocean.
Why is this a RISE UP Priority Campaign?
UNOC3 marks a pivotal milestone and platform for driving forward the goals and aspirations outlined in the Blue Call To Action. We do not want “business as usual,” the outcome of the conference must drive action with concrete goals, targets and deadlines that will truly result in a wave of change for the ocean. Leading up to UNOC3, a High-level Conference is scheduled in Costa Rica for June 2024. This gathering presents a crucial chance to gather momentum, paving the way for the main event in 2025.
